They tend to appear from middle-age onward. Hence age warts.<\/p>\n<p>Age warts\u00a0are not contagious. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">They are not caused by viruses<\/span>.\u00a0These age warts\u00a0can mimic skin cancer, can bleed, itch, or get infected.<\/p>\n<p>Removal of age warts is recommended if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It looks like\u00a0skin cancer.<\/li>\n<li>If they look unsightly<\/li>\n<li>It causes problems with clothing<\/li>\n<li>It regularly cracks and gets infected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are several ways of removing age warts: They are too easy to remove (to us any-way)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Laser<\/strong> &#8211; Laser light selectively burn them off. You will look crusty for a few days and with a little TLC, your skin\u00a0 would look great again.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cryosurgery<\/strong> &#8211; liquid nitrogen\u00a0is sprayed onto the wart which will then then\u00a0darken and peel off in a\u00a01-2 weeks. We use this \u00a0method most often in cosmetically insensitive areas.\u00a0 Freezing is quick and numerous lesions can be treated quickly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Electrocautery (electrosurgery) and\/or curettage<\/strong> &#8211; High frequency heat pulses vaporise or separate the warts from\u00a0your skin.\u00a0\u00a0This method is quick. \u00a0Warts\u00a0are\u00a0removed immediately. Larger warts may require\u00a0\u00a0anaesthetic injections and need some after care &#8211; like a bit of Vaseline and a band-aid.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chemical pee<\/strong>l with salicylic acid or AHA &#8211; glycolic acid ( safer for home use )<\/li>\n<li>Any method is a good method.
