After a laser removal\u00a0 session\u00a0 your freckles will look darker and crust over. After a week or two, these scabs will peel off. The new skin will look pink for a few more weeks. During this pink time you are free to use moisturiser and makeups etc.\u2026Make a habit of sun-screening every day and you will collect less freckles.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Don&#8217;t\u00a0 laser off your melanoma or other skin cancer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>Quite often we have patients requesting laser treatment to their enlarging brown spots\u00a0 that turned out to be melanomas! Play it safe. Most are due to your normal genetics and other\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">are due to some disease process ( e.g <a href=\"https:\/\/rarediseases.org\/rare-diseases\/peutz-jeghers-syndrome\/\">PJ disease<\/a>). If you have a tendency to develop ephelis then every time you get a sun burn y<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">ou will get more ephilides. Some people call freckles sunspots.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Freckles are cute but some people would prefer not to have them as they can make you look worn out so people like to call them aged spots or ageing spots.<\/p>\n<p>These brown spots are not tumours. They are caused by excess blotchy pigmentation to the sun exposed skin.<br \/>\nThey are more visible in summer and fade in winter as old skin is replaced by new skin and due to less sunlight.<\/p>\n<h3>Liver spots<\/h3>\n<p>Liver spots are brow spots-patches the\u00a0 sun-exposed areas of the skin . You can\u2019t remove them with liver detox and they won\u2019t fade in winter. These are real aged or ageing spots.<br \/>\nLiver spots are benign flat tumours of skin. \u00a0They are caused by increased number of pigment cells in response to age and sun light.\u00a0 Therefore, you can find them on your hands or face and back etc&#8230; The medical term for liver spot is solar lentigo or solar lentigine<\/p>\n<p>These liver spots are simple to remove\u00a0 by Laser and other method depends on features.<\/p>\n<p>The hardest part is to prevent new ones\u00a0 from coming ! Sunscreen and wearing gloves while gardening helps.<\/p>\n<h3>Birth marks: Hori Neavus and Neavus of Ota<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5986 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/crowndermatology.com.au\/crown\/wp-content\/uploads\/horis-neavus-laser-treatment-672x372-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"672\" height=\"372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/crowndermatology.com.au\/crown\/wp-content\/uploads\/horis-neavus-laser-treatment-672x372-1.jpg 672w, https:\/\/crowndermatology.com.au\/crown\/wp-content\/uploads\/horis-neavus-laser-treatment-672x372-1-300x166.jpg 300w, https:\/\/crowndermatology.com.au\/crown\/wp-content\/uploads\/horis-neavus-laser-treatment-672x372-1-150x83.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px\" \/><\/h3>\n<p>These deep seated birth marks can be removed by laser.\u00a0 A few sessions 3-4 weeks apart . 3-4 weeks is how long it takes for the body to absorb away the lasered pigment.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Hori\u2019s naevus<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Described by a Japanese doctor, Hori\u2019s naevus presents as cosmetically troublesome blue, grey and\u00a0 brown patchy and spotty pigmentation on the cheeks.<\/p>\n<p>This condition is part of the dermal melanocytosis family and includes: Mongolian spots,\u00a0naevus of Ota, Hori\u2019s naevus and naevus of Ito.<\/p>\n<p>Because the pigment is deeper in the skin\u00a0 &#8211; multiple laser sessions are often needed to clean up the pigment. Why ? because it takes time for your body to absorb the disloged the pigments.
